Our 4th Annual CCIJust Goals Soccer Tournament for Liberation was a huge success! We got to score goals with formerly detained leaders (some of whom have been at all four tournaments!). We were honored to video-call with currently detained leaders who cheered us on from the California City and Adelanto ICE detention centers, and we made new friends on and off the field!
Since 2023, we have come together each year as a community committed to ending ICE detention while celebrating the joy of soccer. Formerly detained people, their loved ones, and supporters gather for a day filled with soccer, laughter, music, and connection. In these especially challenging times, we invite you to join us to feel the strength of community and the power of coming together!

This year, Mission Local reported on CCIJust Goals! We’re so glad that formerly detained leaders were able to speak about the importance of this tournament:
“I’m excited to be here with a community of a lot of folks who have had similar experiences like me. Some of the folks I know personally from detention,” Serafin said. “That’s what brought us together. It didn’t matter what country you were from, we all played soccer.”
